How we spend

 Where's the Money Spent ?

Funds raised from our events held throughout the year are banked straight away, and decisions as to how they are then utilised are taken at our regular CRSA Committee meetings. In normal circumstances, staff members will present us with ideas and requests as to how any monies raised should be used. There is ALWAYS a “wish-list”, which is continually being added to and updated!

In the main, CRSA funds are used to provide the “extras” not funded from the school budget. These can be extremely diverse and wide-ranging but, as a rule, all purchases or provisions that our staff and other stakeholders believe will maximise and enhance the learning practices of our children and which will make their experiences much more fulfilling and exciting. We will always endeavour to spend the funds raised in ways that will benefit ALL of our children across ALL areas of the school and curriculum.

A Future Budding Astronomer ?..

On Wednesday 20th March we brought the Galaxy to Cromer Road School! Meet the inflatable planetarium fully funded by the CRSA who visited school. All classes enjoyed a 45min presentation from the fabulous staff from Immersive Theatre. They got to see Night Sky & Solar System components - an introduction to the current night sky, constellations and movements of the Earth, Sun and Moon, a 3D visit to the International Space Station, a guided tour of the Complete Cosmos in 360° and / or stunning immersive visuals of the new James Webb Space Telescope and then got to watch an immersive 360˚ film.

An Experience never to be forgotten !

Cash 4 Classes - Update

The Cash 4 Classes scheme has been very active in 2024. Below are the activities we have already been able to support:

New 5-a-Side Goals

We are happy to announce the purchase of two new metal 5-a-side goals to replace the dilapidated PVC ones on the artificial grass. After an eagle eyed parent raised a request to the CRSA we were only too happy to buy the new metal type, so hopefully they we will last for many years to come.

Building Blocks for our Lunchtime Play

When we were contacted by Sara Boston (Senior Mealtime Supervisor) about funding a purchase for some building blocks we were only too happy to oblige.  They were desperate for some alternative lunchtime activities for the children, as not everyone gets involved with sports. These building blocks are great fun and can be used by all ages. We even threw in some storage buckets to ensure they last for years to come.

A Lovely Display of Art

When our lovely art teacher Kim Connelly reached out to the CRSA for support in displaying the kids artwork we were only too happy to oblige.  The new clip frames purchased are easy to use and don't spoil the paint work on the walls.  Now we can all enjoy regular displays of art from the next Picasso or Monet.

Revolution Maths

Miss Shirazi approached the CRSA for £1350 to fund Maths workshops as part of Maths week at school to make maths fun and interactive for all children.

A series of interactive, practical maths challenges set by drama and media content, were brought direct to our school.

A true adventure in practical, hands-on maths. A day full of mathematical reasoning and problem solving that was cleverly differentiated and required children to work in teams and pass through each maths challenge zone, undetected by the invading Robotrons, was undertaken.

Following the amazing book fair at school in November, the school was awarded £490 in reward money to spend on new books.  Miss Carroll contacted the CRSA to see if they would be willing to match fund that amount bringing the total to an amazing £980 !  We are happy to announce the books were ordered and distributed to classrooms before Christmas.

Read Write Rap !

What a treat to have MC Grammar come to our school.  The CRSA paid for the superstar rapper to come along for the whole morning and show the kids that learning isn't boring !

Even the grown ups got in on the show !

Lunch Time!

Our dining hall was looking a bit shabby, Mrs O'Donnell requested some support to the value of £4000 from the CRSA to make it a more pleasant environment for all to use.  Over the school holidays, works were undertaken to move appliances, add new power points, repair damaged walls and redecorate throughout. New PVC panelling was installed to protect walls for future damage.

Boyz in the Hoodies

As is tradition, Year 6 received their Cromer Road School keepsake of a Leavers Hoodie.  These were fully funded by the CRSA and the kids were able to wear them on their residential to the Isle of Wight... Enjoy and good luck at big school !

Good to be Green

The CRSA were delighted to pay for the inflatables day for all the kids who succesfully finished term with good behaviour and their cards still Green. What a fabulous way to end the term. Keep up the good work kids!

CRSA hand every teacher £150 cash per academic year to spend on whatever they see fit for their pupils. Some use it to part fund a school trip. Some use it to purchase stationery. Its completely up to them.

We have also had some new storage racking installed so we can now manage all the wonderful donations from our parents.  Thank you to all who have helped.
